Breaking News: WAH LAU EH - WE WON!

A few short hours ago, something amazing thing happened - Yen Yen and Colin WON THE MONTBLANC SCREENWRITERS AWARD for Singapore Dreaming!

We're still reeling from the shock. To our knowledge, this is the first time Singaporeans have ever won an international screenwriting award awarded by a major institution at a Tier 'A' international film festival.

So there you have it - a simple little film from a little island about regular Singaporean folks, told partly in English, in Mandarin and in Hokkien CAN TRANSCEND INTERNATIONAL CULTURAL BOUNDARIES and we can stop trying to make films to please notional foreign audiences by copying films from other countries. (Sorry for this outburst - but you won't believe the kind of crap our founders had gotten from certain quarters for wanting to do their 100% Singaporean story.)

Log on to our Singapore Dreaming Blog for more details! Trust me, it's a wacky story full of twists, turns, surprises and tears... plus celebrity photo ops!

In the meantime... GO AND WATCH OUR NOW INTERNATIONAL AWARD-WINNING FILM WITH OUR SPECIAL 4 FOR THE PRICE OF 3 DEAL THIS WEEKEND - we mean, like, TODAY!

So no update this week - we'll be back NEXT MONDAY, 9 October. THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!

My bloody cold got worse
My ears are blocked and I have a bloody headache

the Bear SG

yeah.. i heard about the prize for singapore dreaming last night Wink

it's a kick in the teeth for the anal powers that "renegades" and "mavericks" like Colin Goh and his gang win awards that the powers lust after Twisted Evil

the Bear SG

how to cure it..

step 1 - uninstall WoW
step 2 - rest

Laughing

Yeah, I heard he got a lot of shit from MDA for using dialects in his films, e.g. the trailer for his first movie had to have the dialects removed. Seems the authorities do not care that we ARE a multi-racial society with people speaking multiple languages and dialects and god forbid, singlish. If they had their way, all our local films will feature jiak kantang speech and accents Laughing

good morning~ i kena accident last night. now how do i claim against that idiot???

the Bear SG

you need to rest.. instead of sitting in front of a screen doing stuff..

btw, the healing stopped for me when i got my iMac Laughing

av98m SG

did you exchange particulars and contact your insurance company?

oh, and are you all right?

kopiosatu SG

no leh, everything was handed over to TP.
my bike is at TP now. supposed to collect today but i told them i'll head down tomorrow.

the thing is now if i claim... i wonder if he will counter claim me.
and when does the TP report on who's right or wrong come in?

the Bear SG

bloody heck.. are you all right?

as for claiming, for police report or not?

the Bear SG

how the accident happen?

and who hit who?

kopiosatu SG

a car came out of the small lane, attempted to cut through 3 lanes to reach the u-turn section.

i was travelling on the middle lane and i smacked right between his door and the passenger door.

kopiosatu SG

oh, damage was minimal but repairs will be major. because my fairing is WRECKED, my entire headlight was smashed in.

but i hit the car and jumped off my bike and landed on my feet.

the Bear SG

if he's cutting across recklessly without looking and you're keeping in your lane, it's his fault..

and if the TP says it's 100% his fault, he should not be able to claim against your insurance..

kopiosatu SG

but when will the TP say its his fault? tomorrow when i collect my bike?
because i don't wanna pay extra premiums.... Confused

av98m SG

Well kopi, the most important thing is that you came out of this without a scratch. Very Happy

the Bear SG

a neighbour of mine totalled his car when he hit another car in the neighbourhood..

claim against the other person because the other person was reckless.. didn't stop at a stop sign and my neighbour had right of way..

even if you hit another person, and the other person was reckless in putting himself in your way when you have right of way, it's his fault

the Bear SG

well, i hope they will.. you're keeping in your lane and the other person just cut across you right?
